Welcome to Zelinda ("Company", "we", "our", "us")! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our Slack-compliant semantic data analysis service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Zelinda provides an AI-powered data analysis service that integrates with Slack and your data warehouse using semantic fingerprinting technology. Our Service:

  • Processes your business questions in memory without storing raw text
  • Creates structured data acquisition plans requiring your approval
  • Executes read-only queries on your authorized databases
  • Provides factual data answers through approved query results
  • Stores database schema information and connection configurations

3. User Responsibilities and Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and database connections
  • Reviewing and approving all data acquisition plans before execution
  • Ensuring you have proper authorization to connect your organization's databases
  • Verifying AI-generated data answers before making business decisions
  • Using the Service in compliance with your organization's data policies
  • Restricting access to your computer and Slack workspace
  • Accepting responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

4. Data Processing and Privacy Protection

Our Service implements privacy-by-design principles:

  • Semantic Fingerprinting: Your messages are converted to structured semantic interpretations - no raw text is stored
  • Approval-Gated Queries: All database access requires your explicit approval
  • Read-Only Access: Database connections use read-only credentials with query validation
  • Plan Expiration: Data acquisition plans automatically expire after 1 hour
  • User Control: You can delete all your data at any time through your dashboard

5. Query Approval Workflow

Your Explicit Consent Required:

  • No database queries execute without your explicit approval
  • You will see detailed plans including SQL queries, required tables, and security considerations
  • You can approve, reject, or request modifications to any data acquisition plan
  • You can cancel approved queries before execution
  • All approvals and rejections are logged for audit purposes

6. Database Connection Requirements

When connecting your databases, you must ensure:

  • You have proper authorization from your organization to connect the database
  • Database credentials use read-only access (we validate this)
  • Connection credentials are kept secure and updated as needed
  • You comply with your organization's data access policies
  • You understand that query results will be sent to your Slack workspace

7. AI and Machine Learning Limitations

Important Disclaimers:

  • AI Accuracy: AI-generated data answers may contain errors or inaccuracies. Always verify critical business decisions
  • Query Validation: While we validate SQL queries for safety, you should review all data access plans
  • No Training Data: Your data is never used to train AI models in compliance with Slack policies
  • Semantic Processing: AI processes semantic interpretations, not your raw message content
  • Human Oversight: Our system includes safety checks, but you remain responsible for data access decisions

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are the exclusive property of Zelinda and its licensors. This includes:

  • Semantic fingerprinting technology and algorithms
  • Query plan generation and approval workflow systems
  • Database security and validation mechanisms
  • User interface and experience design

You retain all rights to your data and query results. By using our Service, you grant us the right to process your data solely for providing the Service to you.

9. Service Availability and Performance

We strive to provide reliable service but cannot guarantee:

  • 100% uptime or availability
  • Specific query execution times (depends on your database performance)
  • Compatibility with all database configurations
  • Continuous availability of third-party integrations (Slack, OpenAI)

10. Data Retention and Deletion

What We Store:

  • User Profiles: Name, email, Slack information, role, and team membership data
  • Database Connections: Encrypted connection credentials and configuration details
  • Query Plans: Data acquisition plans and their approval status
  • Analytics Data: Performance metrics and usage statistics for service optimization
  • Processing Logs: Request processing status and error tracking
  • Schema Information: Database structure and available objects for query generation
  • Team Management: User invitations, roles, and consent records

What We DON't Store:

  • ❌ Raw Slack messages or conversation content
  • ❌ Database query results (sent directly to Slack)
  • ❌ Your actual business data from connected databases

Data Deletion Controls:

  • Logs Dashboard: Delete processing logs, analytics data, and query plans individually or in bulk
  • Settings Dashboard: Delete ALL company data including users, connections, and metadata
  • Query Plan Expiration: Active query plans expire after 1 hour (data remains for analytics)
  • Account Termination: Team admins control data deletion through dashboard settings

11. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

  • Access databases without proper authorization
  • Attempt to circumvent read-only restrictions or query validation
  • Store, transmit, or process illegal content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
  • Use the Service for competitive intelligence against Zelinda

12. Slack Policy Compliance

Our Service is designed to comply with Slack's developer policies:

  • No raw message content is stored
  • Query results are never stored in our systems
  • User data is never used for AI training
  • Plan expiration prevents indefinite storage of query intentions
  • Team admins maintain full control over their data through dashboard controls
  • Slack workspace administrators control app installation and can remove access at any time

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Unauthorized database access attempts
  • Violation of Slack's Terms of Service
  • Suspected security threats or fraudulent activity
  • Non-payment of fees (for paid plans)

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease, and all your data will be deleted within 14 business days.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zelinda shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
  • Damages resulting from AI-generated data answers or query results
  • Issues arising from third-party services (Slack, Google AI, your database)
  • Data breaches or unauthorized access at your database level
  • Business decisions made based on Service outputs

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Zelinda harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Unauthorized database connections or data access
  • Your violation of applicable laws or regulations

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes indicates acceptance of the new Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
